Media activist Larry Macaulay will present the action space Migrantpolitan. It is organized by/for and with refugees and locals. The Migrantpolitan is a place, lab and meeting point where new ways of working, living and celebrating together are developed. It is a place that leaves the classification of “refugees” and “locals” behind and now increasingly intervenes in media representation. Nadine Jessen is co-funder of Migrantpolitan and also created the platform “new media socialism” that realizes emancipatory formats like “Hello Deutschland – Die Einwanderer” or “Ramadram”. Both will present their work and talk about media production in transcultural and diasporic communities. The workshop is held in English.
Medienaktivist Larry Macaulay stellt den Aktionsraum Migrantpolitan in Hamburg vor. Der Ort ist ein Aktionsraum für/ von und mit Geflüchteten und Lokals. Das Migrantpolitan ist ein Ort, ein Labor und ein Treffpunkt, in dem neue Formate des Zusammenarbeitens, -lebens und -feierns erprobt und entwickelt werden. Ein Ort, der die gesellschaftlichen Zuordnungen in »Refugees« und »Locals« hinter sich lässt und der sich nun verstärkt in die mediale Repräsentation einmischt. Nadine Jessen ist neben Macaulay Mitbegründerin des Migrantpolitan und hat mit „new media socialism“ eine Plattform geschaffen, die mit Formaten wie „Hello Deutschland - Die Einwanderer“ und „Ramadram“ neue emanzipatorische Unterhaltungsformate entwickelt. Beide stellen diese Ansätze vor und berichten aus der Medienproduktion in transkulturellen und diasporischen Communities. Der Workshop wird in englischer Sprache durchgeführt.
